Student Learning Objectives:

  • Students will define ‘racism’ and identify injustices based on a read aloud of The Other Side by Jacqueline Woods

  • Students will explore and interpret a range of primary documents and determine how different groups of people were living and how they were treated

  • Students will use primary documents to infer past events and communicate their thoughts about them

  • Students will list and document appropriate and uplifting vocabulary words regarding race, ethnicity, social class, etc.
