Student Learning Objectives

  • Students will further engage with primary source media and identify leaders in the Freedom Summer movement.

  • Students will review and critique laws and policies of the past (Segregation policies before the Civil Rights of 1964 and Voting Act of 1965).

  •  Students will develop an argument regarding sacrifice for social causes (either for or against) using logical reasoning and conclusions drawn from the evidence.

Student Checklist 

  • Keep your IQ card from yesterday as it will guide your research today. 
     

  • Create your found poem using ONLY primary source resource media. You can use quotes from documents or from the audio/video section.
     

  • Use the primary sources tab and the internet to research effective voting advertisements of the Civil Rights movement.
